I am thrilled to share the exciting news that Google AdSense PPC to PPI also know as eCPM is a major shift in its payment model. This movement from pay per click (PPC) to pay per impression (PPI) payments, is a game-changer for all publishers and advertisers who rely on AdSense for their online monetization efforts.
With this transition, publishers will now be paid based on the number of impressions their ads receive, rather than just the number of clicks. This means that every time an ad is displayed on a website or app, the publisher will earn revenue. This is a significant development as it opens up new possibilities for generating income, especially for websites with high traffic volumes.
Google is moving AdSense publishers to an eCPM payment scheme. Google said in November of last year that it will be modernizing the revenue share model for AdSense in order to compensate publishers for the content on their websites.
AdSense partners will soon start receiving eCPM payments, according to confirmation from Ginny Marvin, the Google Ads Liaison, this is the Adsense Revenue share link she shared in her tweet.

In the below image, you can see how Google AdSense splits the revenue between AdSense and Publishers. Previously, this happened. But now tables have turned.
Now, since eCPM has introduced, Google AdSense will keep the same Revenue share as the impressions compared to clicks are always higher, Publishers could make more Revenue than usual.
Some publishers have started to receive Revenue from the new model and some have lost some Revenue. As it is an automatic process, no one can judge it for now until there is an official statement or break through.
Recently, Microsoft Pubcenter was re-released, and it is safe to say that Google AdSense is making a smart move to attract attention.
The move from PPC to PPI payments by Google AdSense is a strategic decision that aligns with the evolving needs of the digital advertising industry. As the online landscape continues to evolve, advertisers are increasingly looking for ways to reach a larger audience and generate brand awareness. By shifting to pay per impression, AdSense enables advertisers to maximize their visibility and exposure, while giving publishers the opportunity to earn more from their ad placements.
This transition also brings more stability to publishers’ revenue streams. With PPC, publishers had to rely solely on the number of clicks their ads received, which could fluctuate greatly from day to day. However, with PPI payments, publishers can now have a more predictable income based on the impressions their ads generate. This provides a sense of security and allows publishers to focus on creating quality content and engaging their audience, without constantly worrying about click rates.
In conclusion, Google AdSense’s move from pay per click to pay per impression payments is a positive change that benefits both publishers and advertisers. It opens up new avenues for monetization, enhances visibility for advertisers, and provides stability in revenue streams for publishers. So, if you’re a publisher or advertiser using AdSense, get ready to embrace this exciting shift and make the most out of your online advertising efforts.
